For many years, Fort Wayne has proved itself as a leader in advanced manufacturing. From motor vehicle production at the Genreal Motors Assembly Plant to innovative projects at CME Automotive and Regal-Beloit, companies have chosen northeast Indiana for their corporate offices and facilities. This cluster covers a large amount of companies dealing with electronics to building supplies.

The area is an great place for manufacturers to tap into local resources with several higher education facilities in Fort Wayne. Fort Wayne has a long and proud manufacturing tradition with plenty of room for other companies in this arena.

The Innovation Center located in Fort Wayne, Indiana, nurtures businesses by developing the venture during start-up, early development, and the growth stages. The Innovation Center is all about growth. Growth in the economy, growth in jobs, and the growth of dynamic new companies with great new ideas.
The Indiana Venture Center helps lead high-growth, highly-scalable, entrepreneurial businesses in a market-leading industry with the potential to generate millions of dollars in revenue each year down the path to angel and venture capital funding.
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) is the State of Indiana's lead economic development agency. IEDC was officially established in February 2005 to replace the former Department of Commerce. In order to respond quickly to the needs of businesses, IEDC operates like a business. In an effort to provide businesses with the most complete range of services, state economic development agencies that were previously separate from the Department of Commerce have been incorporated into the IEDC organizational structure. With its new structure and improved tool-kit resulting from a successful legislative effort undertaken by the Governor and the Indiana General Assembly during the 2005 legislative session, the IEDC is equipped and ready to make Indiana competitive in the 21st Century economy.
