Bob Hoffman is director of operations and site executive at BAE Systems’ Fort Wayne, Indiana facility. The Fort Wayne site employs approximately 930 associates who manufacture and service electronic controls and accessories for BAE Systems products. He is responsible for executing the OEM production and aftermarket support for over 300 airline customers, all branches of the Armed Forces, and several foreign military customers.   
 
Bob joined the heritage company General Electric/Lockheed Martin in 1988 and over the years has functioned as lean enterprise leader, manufacturing manager, program manager, aftermarket operations manager, and sourcing/logistics leader. Since 1997 he has led the “lean” transformation within BAE Systems’ Platform Solutions line of business.  
 
In 2000, he led the way for the Fort Wayne facility to win “America’s Best Plant” presented by Industry Week Magazine. In 2005, he led the site to win the prestigious Shingo Prize. He has served as a certified Shingo examiner and a “lean” resource for his as well as several other BAE Systems, Lockheed Martin, and General Electric sites. He has been recognized multiple times for his “lean” leadership within the BAE Systems annual Chairman’s Award program.  
 
Bob currently lives in Fort Wayne with his wife Karen and their five children. He enjoys tinkering with various projects and spending time at the lake on the weekends. He and his wife also stay very busy with athletic and other activities for their children.
