Ken McCrory accepts executive director position; will assume duties in June
Auburn, Ind. (May 3, 2010) - The DeKalb County Economic Development Partnership (DCEDP) announced today that it has selected Ken McCrory as its new executive director. McCrory will officially take over for Galen Eberhart on June 10. The DCEDP has been affiliated with the Fort Wayne-Allen County Economic Development Alliance (Alliance) since April of 2006. This arrangement allows the Alliance to provide professional services to the DCEDP. The Alliance has a similar agreement with the LaGrange County Economic Development Corporation (LCEDC).
"We have met many talented and well-qualified individuals over the course of this process, but we believe Ken's leadership skills and experience have set him apart for the position of executive director of the DeKalb County Economic Development Partnership," stated Steve Bingham, DCEDP board president. "We are looking forward to working together with Ken to make DeKalb County the ideal place to locate or grow a business."
Prior to joining the DCEDP, McCrory was regional director of the Northeast Indiana Small Business Development Center, hosted by Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW). He has held leadership positions in corporate training at IPFW and Ivy Tech State College and in land use planning with the City of Fort Wayne. McCrory received a Bachelor of Science degree from Ball State University and a Masters of Public Administration degree from Indiana University, Bloomington.
"We are confident that Ken's previous experience has prepared him to meet the day to day challenges of leading a successful economic development organization," added Andi Udris, Alliance president. "The Alliance will continue to work with and support the DCEDP in its efforts to increase jobs and investment in DeKalb County."
"I am looking forward to the opportunity to lead the DeKalb County Economic Development Partnership," said McCrory. "It will be exciting to share with others the resources that DeKalb County has to offer - which is excellent locations to grow or begin a business and a robust and dependable workforce that is hardworking and committed to the community."
