Fort Wayne, Ind. (August 26, 2010) – Courtyard by Marriott Fort Wayne at Grand Wayne Convention Center will celebrate its Grand Opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at Noon. The Courtyard by Marriott is located at 1150 S. Harrison Street, next to Parkview Field, and is part of Fort Wayne’s Harrison Square development.
Participating in the ribbon cutting with the Courtyard by Marriott will be General Manager Andy Crowel, President & CEO Investments and Development Division Deno Yainkes, Mayor Tom Henry, and Executive Director City of Fort Wayne Redevelopment Greg Leatherman. Also joining in the ribbon cutting will be Executive Director of the Embassy Theatre Kelly Updike, Fort Wayne Tin Caps Team President Mike Nutter, Grand Wayne Convention Center Executive Director Robert Lister, and President of the Fort Wayne Downtown Improvement District Rich Davis.
Proceeding the Courtyard by Marriott Fort Wayne Downtown Grand Opening, the dedication of the Robert Goldstine Bridge will take place at the Old Indiana Hotel at 12:30 p.m.
The public is welcome to attend and witness the ceremonial cutting. The Champions Sports Bar & Grill and Courtyard Bistro (Proudly Brewing Starbucks Coffee) will be open for visitors, and Marriott staff will be available to provide tours of the facility. Later in the afternoon, the Courtyard by Marriott will welcome its first guest.
