Bandemer is responsible for managing downtown development projects and assisting businesses seeking commercial, office and retail space in downtown and the surrounding community. 
 
Bandemer has previous economic development experience with the City of Fort Wayne as Director of the Redevelopment Commission and Economic Development Department. Recently, Bandemer held the position of Vice President of Development for Sturges Development Group, where he oversaw the development of 23 subdivisions. During his time as Vice President of the Residential Development Division for the Northill Corporation, Bandemer directed the development of six subdivisions, including Sycamore Hills, a residential-golf course community surrounding a Jack Nicklaus signature golf course. Bandemer began his career as a Land Use Planner for the Northeastern Indiana Regional Coordinating Council where he was responsible for the preparation of an open space plan for Allen County and later as the Executive Director of the Region 3A Planning and Development Commission.
 
Karl holds an undergraduate degree from Drake University in Political Science and a M.A. in Urban Planning from Wayne State University. He has two children, Christopher, a lawyer in Kendallville and Lissa, an elementary school teacher in Chicago.
